Bluebells | outdoor family photography in Loughborough

This photograph was taken by me a couple of years ago and was featured by Vogue Italia

Who loves Bluebells?

Spring is upon us and I, for one, will be so glad to see the back of this winter!

I’m normally an “all weather” kind of a girl but this year the rain has just been relentless. So I am now sat here planning for warmer days because they are just around the corner (I promise!).

And where better to start than with the Bluebells? Photo shoots in the bluebells are my most popular sessions - I think that for many, they epitomise English woodlands. And if you’ve been lucky enough to walk amongst them I think you’ll agree they are absolutely stunning.

So we have a few beautiful Bluebell woods right on our doorstep here in Charnwood. My absolute favourite is The Outwoods, closely followed by Swithland and Ratby woods. Did you know that the Bluebells are protected? They are extremely delicate and if crushed will not grow again the following year. Because of this I am always extremely careful about where and how I photograph them.

I am a strong believer in taking only photographs and leaving only footprints (although in the case of Bluebells we don’t even leave any footprints!)

For this photo I placed Bronte on a path and then laid down on another path so that it looked as though she was surrounded by the flowers.

Previously, I have always offered full family sessions in the Bluebells but I am going to offer them as mini sessions this year. Which means the shoot will be an hour long and I will photograph everyone together and then some individual portraits of the children. Unfortunately, the sessions cannot be offered to extended family, however, you are welcome to book a full family session if this is what you’d prefer. The great news is that they will be cheaper as a result!

The shoots are perfect if you want to update your family photos (maybe you’ve had a shoot with me in the past?) or are refreshing a room in your house and you’d like to add a statement wall.

So what can you expect? The shoots will take place in Charnwood. Upon booking I will send you a guide of “what to wear” with some easy suggestions that will have you looking great in your photos. On the day, we will spend some time chatting and generally having fun to relax you all into the session. During the shoot I will guide you on the best way to sit so that you have flattering photos and will encourage the children to play and explore. I will provide blankets to sit on and have chosen colours that look great in any home.

Following the shoot I will send you an online gallery from which you’ll be able to choose your favourite photos with the option to order extras, prints and wall art if you wish. These photographs make a perfect present for the grandparents who are always so difficult to buy for (they usually have everything they want, don’t they?!) so it’s win, win!

The flowers are only out for a couple of weeks so I will be offering a very limited number of dates. They will be offered on a first come, first served basis.

Please let me know if you would like to be added to the waitlist

I can honestly say, it was the best present.
